Job Description Job Title:              COVID-19 Vaccine Team CoordinatorDepartment:         MedicalReports To:          Chief Medical OfficerFLSA Status:       Exempt     Classification:       Regular, Full Time, 40 hours/week, Monday – FridayLocation:               Valley Center, CAFunding:               Grant (end date 12/31/2021)  *Benefits package included   SUMMARYAs part of the COVID-19 Vaccine Team, the COVID-19 Vaccine Team Coordinator is responsible for providing oversight for all COVID-19 vaccine management within the clinic and ensuring the proper storage and handling.   Responsible for coordinating all COVID-19 vaccine events, including securing locations, equipment, staff, scheduling, etc.  Oversees the COVID-19 Vaccine Team. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.  Other duties may be assigned. Completes COVID-19 vaccine trainings and ongoing trainings.Works in collaboration with Medical and Dental middle management teams to coordinate vaccine events.Responsible for ensuring flyers are developed and posted to all social media accounts, emailed to appropriate contacts and shared with all staff.Tracks vaccine burn rates.As appropriate, based on vaccine scope, manages Data Loggers and oversees the temperature logs for vaccine safety.Reviews policy adherence with staff and CMO.Coordinates when needed with QICM (Quality/Infection Control Manager).Ensures back up staff for contingency planning.Coordinates AccuVax notifications with Medical Assistant Supervisor.Works in collaboration with Medical, Dental and Procurement Manager regarding stock shipping and receiving coordination.Utilizes various communication systems for department communication including land line phones, Microsoft Teams, emails, and radio.Serves as backup for scope appropriate COVID-19 Vaccine team positions as needed.Assist the testing event team where needed (data entry, set-up, breakdown, etc.)Completes data reporting and updates to staff.Participates in assigned committees as appropriate, e.g. Mass Vaccination Committee, etc.Completes other vaccine coordination related duties as assigned.Takes immediate action if temperatures not in range.Coordinates vaccine inventory stock and rotations as indicated.Coordinates reports and Waste Logs as requested.Rotates to Santa Ysabel clinic as needed.  SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESSupervises the COVID-19 Vaccine Team:  Vaccinators, PSR (scheduler) and Data Entry clerks. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.  Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring under consult with human resources department and CMO.  Other duties include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. TRAVEL & DRIVING REQUIREMENTSTravel is required to our satellite clinic in Santa Ysabel for this position.Driving is not required for this position.   QUALIFICATIONSTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.Minimum 6 mos to 1-year nursing experience performing patient care, administering vaccines, and documenting visits on EHR system.Minimum 6 mos to 1-year supervising experience. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIESKnowledge of nursing clinical competencies.Knowledge of safe practice administering vaccines.Skilled in administering vaccines.Ability to assess and treat patients after administering vaccine.Ability to manage and lead a team.Ability to identify problems, use good judgment and recommend solutions.Ability to establish priorities and coordinate work activities.  CERTIFICATES, LICENSES AND REGULATIONS Active, unrestricted California RN license.A valid CA driver’s license and good driving record is a required at the time of appointment and must be maintained throughout employment.  Current CPR certification or attain within 6 months of hire.  Applicants must successfully pass a pre-employment physical exam, tuberculin skin test or x-ray and urine drug screen test to include marijuana.  Health must be adequate to perform all duties of the position.  Must pass a criminal background check.  TECHNOLOGY SKILLS Must be proficient in the following:Electronic Healthcare Software; NextGen preferred.Productivity Software: Microsoft Office 365, Teams (video conferencing and meetings) and Share PointLogging in and utilizing Relias Learning Software and ADP system. PHYSICAL DEMANDS   The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
